Heleen Declercq

Heleen Declercq is a Brussels based independent director and cinematographer. As a little kid, Heleen was constantly documenting her own world with her moms camcorder. When she grew up she studied documentary at the RITCS school of arts in Brussels. Although her heart sticks to documentary, she enjoys the world of commercials, music- and fashion videos. Intrigued by the emotions of the people she portrays, Heleen tries to follow them closely while trying to be invisible at the same time. With her graduate project GIRLHOOD she was selected at several film festivals.
